Five Things to Know
- Woah, We're Halfway There
Friday's game at Evansville marks the ninth league game for Indiana State, having faced every team in the Missouri Valley Conference once. That means following the game the Sycamores will have reached the halfway point of the league's double round-robin, 18-game schedule.
- The Road to March … Literally
Indiana State embarks upon a long road in the calendar year's shortest month as the Sycamores only have two home games (over one weekend) in the month of February. Five of ISU's seven games will be away from Hulman Center in a stretch reminiscent of the start of the season when the Trees opened the year with six of their first eight games away from home.
- Hot Tamara
As the weather has gotten cold, Tamara Lee has gotten hot. Since Jan. 6, Lee has found her rhythm on the court by shooting nearly 39 percent from the field and averaging 11.9 ppg, including a team-best 44.1 percent mark from beyond the arc. She has also grabbed nine steals in that time frame and is averaging a 72.7 percent mark from the free throw line.
- Cardiac Trees
Indiana State is keeping fans on the edge of their seats this season for a full 40 minutes each game. The Sycamores have played in nine games that have been decided by 10 or fewer points, posting a 6-3 record in those games.
- C The Steals?
A trio of Sycamores have recorded 100 or more career steals while in the Wabash Valley. Regan Wentland became the third to hit the 100 steal mark on Jan. 25 in the Sycamores' near upset of Drake. Tierra Webb (148 career steals), Ashli O'Neal (113) and Wentland (103) all enter Friday's gave having passed the century mark in career swipes. And if you didn't know, "C" is the Roman numeral for 100.
