ST. LOUIS -- ESPN has notified the Missouri Valley Conference that two telecasts featuring three league baseball teams will be a part of ESPN's most comprehensive collegiate baseball schedule to date.
Missouri State will play host to DBU in an MVC contest on Thursday, May 2, that will be shown on ESPNU at 6:00 p.m. (CST). DBU will appear again on Saturday, May 11, as the Patriots play host to Indiana State in a game that will air on ESPNU at 8:30 p.m. (CST).
The game between Missouri State and DBU will be played at Hammons Field in Springfield, Missouri - site of the Bears' home contests and one of the premier college baseball facilities in the nation. The matchup between the Patriots and the Sycamores will take place at Horner Ballpark - site of DBU's home contests and one of the top ballparks in collegiate baseball. The two venues hosted NCAA Regionals in 2015.
The May 2 telecast will showcase the two teams that have finished No. 1 and No. 2 in The Valley standings the past two years as Missouri State hosts DBU. Both Missouri State and DBU earned NCAA berths a year ago. Missouri State played in the Oxford (Ole Miss) Regional, while DBU competed in the Fayetteville (Arkansas) Regional.
The May 11 production will feature the Patriots and an Indiana State team tabbed to finish third in the MVC standings in 2019 after posting a 31-24 mark a year ago.
Missouri State (40-17) and DBU (42-21) registered 40 wins once again in 2018, marking the 14th time since the 1992 season that at least two Valley teams tallied 40 or more wins. It was the fifth straight 40-win season for the Patriots, joining Florida, Florida State and Louisville as the only programs to accomplish this feat.
