TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Day one is in the books. Indiana State's women's basketball program completed its first official team practice of the 2018-19 season with an early morning session Friday at the Hulman Center.
Â
The 2.5-hour session featured both individual training and team drills as the Sycamores hit the Hulman Center floor for the first time since
Vicki Hall was named head coach in March. Practice began with some individual drills but most of the inaugural session was dedicated to team drills.
Â
"We did a lot more five-on-five situations," Hall said. "We have been working on a lot of these things all summer before we even hit this part because it is important that we put together the foundation of our defense and our offense. They have a little bit under their belt but we just have to get better at it."
Â
Friday's session begins the nearly six-week long preseason campaign gearing up for the season opener on Nov. 7 at Marshall, a time period where Hall and her staff can not only put in the offense and defense but also continuing to mold the group into what the 2018-19 Sycamores will be.
Â
"I want this team to be hard-working and blue collar but at the same time patient and detail-oriented," Hall said.
