TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Indiana State track & field program director Angela Martin and her staff have released the 2018-19 men's and women's indoor and outdoor track and field schedule.
 
"Our schedule this year sets us up well to be ready at the end of the season when it really matters," program director Angela Martin said. "We have a great balance of competition level from smaller schools up to the SEC and Big Ten. I am excited to see how our team responds and challenges themselves."
 
The Sycamores will open the 2018-19 indoor season by hosting three straight meets in the brand new Indoor Track & Field Facility. Starting on Dec. 8, ISU will host the Indiana State Early Bird meet, followed by the Coughlan/Malloy Cup against Illinois State on Jan. 12. Indiana State will then host the Sycamore Team Invitational on Jan. 19, which will be the final home meet of the indoor season.
 
The Sycamores will get to stay in Indiana to close out January, as they will travel down the road to Indiana University for the IU Relays on Jan. 25.
 
Indiana State will kick off February with a split weekend at the Meyo Invitational and IWU Invitational on Feb. 1-2 in South Bend, Ind., and Marion, Ind., respectively. Then, on Feb. 8-9 the teams will head south for the Music City Challenge in Nashville, Tenn., followed by one more split weekend at the EIU Friday Night Special in Charleston, Ill., and the Alex Wilson Invite in South Bend, Ind., on Feb. 15-16.
 
The Sycamore men and women will compete against their fellow MVC schools at the MVC Indoor Championships on Feb. 23-24 at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Fall, Iowa. The NCAA Indoor Championships will be held at the Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Ala on March 8-9.
 
The 2019 outdoor season will begin at Butler for the Stan Lyons Open in Indianapolis, Ind., on Mar. 16 before the Sycamores head south once again for the Vanderbilt Black & Gold Invitational from Mar. 22-23 in Nashville, Tenn. ISU will stay in SEC country the next weekend as they will compete at the Ole Miss Classic in Oxford, Miss., on Mar. 30.
 
April will see a return home for the Sycamores as they host the Gibson Invitational from Apr. 5-6 in Terre Haute. The next weekend the Sycamores will travel back to SEC country for the Tiger Track Classic in Auburn, Ala., from Apr. 12-13, before heading home again to host the Pacesetter Sports Invitational from Apr. 19-20.
 
ISU will gear up for the historic Drake Relays on Apr. 25-27, where many of the nation's elite athletes will gather to compete at one of the country's most prestigious regular season meets. After competing at the Drake Relays, the teams will head to Indiana University to compete at the Billy Hayes Invitational on May 3 before heading home for the MVC Outdoor Championships.
 
Indiana State will host the 2019 MVC Outdoor Championships from May 10-12, returning to Terre Haute for the third time in four years, as ISU last hosted in 2018. The season will conclude with the NCAA East Prelims in Jacksonville, Fla., on May 23-25, and the NCAA Outdoor Championships will follow in Austin, Texas, from June 5-8. The US U20 Outdoor Championships will take place from June 14-16, with the USA Outdoor Championships following from July 25-28.
