Erin Reese ends season on day three of USA Track & Field Championships

DES MOINES, Iowa - Junior thrower Erin Reese concluded her season on day three of the USA Track & Field Championships after falling just short of qualifying for finals in the hammer throw.

The MVC Champion entered Saturday with the best throw in school history in the hammer throw of 65.16m (213-09). Going up against some of the best throwers in the nation, Reese ended the first flight in fifth place with a throw of 60.92m (199-10). In the end, she finished in 11th with that same mark.

Reese had a phenomenal debut season for the Sycamores, claiming the MVC title in the weight throw at the indoor championships and winning the MVC championship in the hammer throw during the outdoor season. On top of claiming the school record in the hammer throw, Reese owns the second-best mark in school history in the weight throw from her toss of 21.06m (69-01.25) at the indoor championships, as well as the fourth overall mark in the discus throw of 53.98m (177-01) from the Ole Miss Classic.
