MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Brooke Mann was 2-for-2 with a pair of RBIs and
Bella Peterson hit her first home run of her career as Indiana State defeated Bowling Green, 7-6, in the first game of the Memphis Softball Tournament Friday morning.

The Sycamores (10-6) took advantage of four Bowling Green errors in the game, as well as timely hitting. Indiana State had a 6-0 lead after
Bella Peterson hit her first career dinger. Trailing 7-2 in the sixth inning, Bowling Green (11-7) charged back to pull within one run.

The Falcons threatened again in the bottom of the seventh but hit into a double play and then an easy pop up to first ended the game and clinched the win for the Sycamores.

Brooke Mann was impressive at the plate in a 2-for-2 performance, driving in two runs and scoring once herself. More than just skilled with the bat, Mann had a keen eye as she drew a walk and was hit by a pitch.
