MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Brooke Mann was 2-for-2 with a pair of RBIs and Bella Peterson hit her first home run of her career as Indiana State defeated Bowling Green, 7-6, in the first game of the Memphis Softball Tournament Friday morning.
 
The Sycamores (10-6) took advantage of four Bowling Green errors in the game, as well as timely hitting. Indiana State had a 6-0 lead after Bella Peterson hit her first career dinger. Trailing 7-2 in the sixth inning, Bowling Green (11-7) charged back to pull within one run.
 
The Falcons threatened again in the bottom of the seventh but hit into a double play and then an easy pop up to first ended the game and clinched the win for the Sycamores.
 
PLAYER OF THE GAME
Brooke Mann was impressive at the plate in a 2-for-2 performance, driving in two runs and scoring once herself. More than just skilled with the bat, Mann had a keen eye as she drew a walk and was hit by a pitch.
