Sycamore Softball Announces Complete Signing Class

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Head Softball Coach Mike Perniciaro announced Indiana State's complete signing class Wednesday with the addition of seven future Sycamores. The incoming class includes four infielders, two pitchers and one outfielder.
 
All seven are expected to be on campus next fall and ready to participate starting with the 2020 season.

Kaylee Barrett / OF / Wheatfield, Ind. / Kankakee Valley HS  
Barrett hit .448 her junior season with 26 RBIs and 34 runs scored, including seven home runs. She received First Team All-Area and honorable mention all-conference honors.
 
Lexi Benko / RHP / Chesterton, Ind. / Chesterton HS  
Benko was an All-Duneland Athletic Conference honoree in addition to receiving First Team All-Area honors.
 
Brenna Brown / INF / Granger, Ind. / Penn HS  
As a junior she hit .448 with 33 RBIs and 29 runs scored. She received second team all-conference honors and was named the Heather Genovese Outstanding Infielder.
 
Abby Letson / LHP / Floyds Knobs, Ind. / Floyd Central HS  
Posted a 1.65 ERA as a junior and averaged over one strikeout per inning which vaulted her to first team all-conference honors.
 
Maeve McDonough / INF / Hillsboro, Mo. / Notre Dame HS  
Named the Notre Dame High School Player of the Year following a senior year where she led her team to a district and sectional championship. Drove in 43 runs and hit .483 to claim all-conference, all-district and all-region honors.
 
Maddy Richey / INF / Brazil, Ind. / Northview HS  
A three-time WIC All-Conference honoree that hit .393 with 26 RBIs and 24 runs scored as a junior. She claimed Outstanding Offensive Player and the team mental attitude award at Northview High.
 
Cassie Thomerson / INF / Floyds Knobs, Ind. / Floyd Central HS  
A three-time first team all-conference honoree, she was a finalist her junior year for the Louisville Courier-Journal Female Athlete of the Year. She was also named her team's MVP and Defensive Player of the Year following her junior campaign.
