ST. LOUIS -- Sycamore Football picked up 10 All-Missouri Valley Football Conference honors for the 2018 season, the Valley announced Monday. The All-MVFC teams are voted on by MVFC coaches, sports information directors and members of the media.

two of the MVFC's five specialty awards after second-year head coach
Curt Mallory was named Coach of the Year and Boyle earned Newcomer of the Year honors.

Leads the Sycamores and ranks fourth in the MVFC with 948 rushing yards … Leads the MVFC with 13 rushing touchdowns and 135.4 yards per game … Averaged six yards per carry … Scored multiple touchdowns in five games, including four against EIU … Ran for over 100 yards in five games with a season high 234 rush yards in week three … Rushed for over 100 yards in three-straight weeks against South Dakota State, Missouri State and Southern Illinois … Has not played since week nine against SIU due to injury … Ranked second nationally in rushing yards, rushing touchdowns and third in rushing yards per game and scoring per game following week nine against the Salukis.

An MVFC Defensive Player of the Year caliber season at linebacker for the Sycamores after 11 starts … Led the team and the MVFC in total tackles with 132 stops, including 81 unassisted tackles … Leads the nation with 7.4 solo tackles per game and ranks fifth nationally with 12 tackles per game … Recorded 9.5 tackles for loss for 27 yards, including 4.5 tackles-for-loss in the season finale to force a punt that led to the game-winning field goal … The team leader with 3.5 sacks for 20 yards … Recorded double-digit tackles in eight of 11 games … Recorded a season high 18 tackles in back-to-back games against South Dakota State and Missouri State … Had a span of six weeks with double-digit tackles … Forced one fumble against South Dakota and recovered … Recovered a fumble and ran it 80 yards to the house at Youngstown State … Had an interception for 20 yards against Louisville in week two … Credited with one quarterback hurry.Â

Made his Sycamore debut in week three at Eastern Illinois coming off an injury and started the next nine game at quarterback ... Finished the season with 1,627 yards passing on 128-of-205 attempts through the air for a 62.4 competition percentage to rank tops in the MVFC and 19th nationally … Finished with 12 passing touchdowns and a 145.5 passer efficiency rating … Finished second on the team with 610 yards rushing and six rushing touchdowns … Rushed for a career high 187 yards and two touchdowns against South Dakota … Finished with four total touchdowns against No. 3 South Dakota State (two passing, two rushing) in an overtime loss on the road … Led the Sycamores to a program record 569 yards of total offense at SDSU … Accounted for a school record seven total touchdowns (five passing, two rushing) in a triple overtime win against South Dakota … Led the team to five-straight victories to close out the 2018 season to finish 7-4 overall and a third-place finish in the MVFC after an 0-11 season in 2017.

Started every game at linebacker during his redshirt senior season … Second in the Missouri Valley Football Conference in tackles with 119 on the season … Ranks eighth nationally and second in the conference with 10.8 tackles per game and 17th nationally with 5.7 solo tackles per game … Finished with 63 solo stops which is second in the MVFC … Had five games of 12 or more tackles … Recorded a season high 19 tackles against South Dakota which included 10 solo stops … Had eight tackles for loss for 19 yards, including a sack for five yards … Credited with three quarterback hurries and one pass breakup … Forced a fumble in a triple overtime win against South Dakota … Named MVFC Defensive Player of the Week two times in 2018 … Became the 17th player in program history to record 300 career tackles after a week eleven win against Illinois State when he recorded a game high 13 tackles.

Started all 11 games at cornerback during his senior season … Fifth on the team with 50 tackles … Recorded 34 unassisted tackles and 2.5 tackles-for-loss for eight yards … Tied for the team lead with eight pass breakups which is eighth-best in the MVFC … Finished with two forced fumbles … Had a season high seven tackles in a win over No. 22 Illinois State.

Finished the season 15-of-19 in field goals with a season long of 48 yards coming against Missouri State … Was 40-of-41 on PAT attempts … Finished second in the MVFC and 20th nationally with a 78.9 field goal percentage … Averaged 7.7 points per game which is 14th-best in the conference … Averaged 59.8 yards per kickoff and recorded nine touchbacks ... Named MVFC Special Teams Player of the Week three times.
