Series History
- This will be the 10th meeting between Indiana State and Saint Louis on the hardwood with the Sycamores holding a 6-3 advantage in the all-time series. The last meeting came last season when SLU edged the host Sycamores, 60-59.
- Indiana State has historically performed well in Saint Louis, claiming a 4-1 mark all-time in the Gateway City over the Billikens.
- Recently this series has been very close with three of last five games having been decided by one possession (four points or less).
Five Things to Know
- Height Challenge
Indiana State will have to overcome a notable height advantage in order to come away with a victory. With an average roster height of 5-foot-10, the Sycamores will have to use positioning and solid play to battle a Billiken roster that has an average height of 6-foot-1.
- No Home November
The Sycamores continue their road trip throughout the month of November as renovation work at the Hulman Center keeps ISU away from home until Dec. 3. Indiana State hasn't started a year with so many games away from home since the 1982-83 season.
- Close Games the Norm
Three of the last five games against the Billikens have been decided by one possession (four points or less), including last year's 60-59 loss at Hulman Center.
- New Faces
Both squads have several new faces on the roster as Indiana State brings in five newcomers while Saint Louis has six newcomers on its roster with four starters lost.
- Trees Standing Tall
Indiana State's defense got off to a hot start at Marshall, a trend the Sycamores hope to continue this week. Entering this week's play ISU is ranked in the top 75 nationally in four categories, including field goal percentage defense (45th), blocks (60th), rebounds per game (69th) and scoring defense (73rd), leading the Valley in all four categories.
