SAINT LOUIS – With the 2018-19 season less than a month away from tipoff the Missouri Valley Conference has released its preseason basketball polls and Indiana State's women have been picked to finish seventh in
Vicki Hall's inaugural season as head coach of the Sycamores.
Indiana State received 192 points in the preseason selections, finishing just one point behind Bradley. The Sycamores, which finished 11-19 (9-9) last season, return four starters and eight letterwinners from last year's squad.
The 2018-19 campaign marks the first for the Sycamores under Hall, who came to the Wabash Valley after spending six seasons as assistant then associate head coach at Toledo.
Hall, making her head coaching debut when Indiana State opens the season at Marshall on Nov. 7, has brought in five newcomers to the program including two international post players.
Despite bringing in five newcomers, the Trees return plenty of production to the floor this season. With eight letterwinners and four starters back, the Sycamores return 69 percent of their points and 66 percent of their rebounds from last season.
