TERRE HAUTE, Ind. –  Senior
Jeff Zahn recorded one of his two base hits on the afternoon in the sixth inning to lead the Sycamores to a 5-3 series-clinching win over Wichita State Saturday at Bob Warn Field on Senior Day. The win also secured the No. 3 seed for the squad in the Missouri Valley Championship beginning next week in Springfield, Missouri.

Zahn, a Newburgh, Indiana product, was the only Sycamore (27-24, 12-9 MVC) to record multiple hits in the contest, finishing 2-for-4 with and RBI and a run scored.
Brandt Nowaskie went 1-for-3 with a pair of RBIs.

Junior
Jeremy McKinney tallied the win for the Trees in relief, improving to 5-1 on the season. The right-hander went 2.2 innings and struck out four, allowing just one run. Senior
Ryan Keaffaber picked up the no decision after giving up a pair of runs in 3.2 innings while striking out two.

After going for just two hits in the first five innings of play Saturday, Indiana State's offense came alive in the sixth to the tune of four hits and five runs. Wichita State (27-28, 10-11 MVC) built a 3-0 advantage through five innings thanks in part to a pair of home runs from their leadoff man Greyson Jenista; a two-run shot in the third and a solo home run in the fifth.

It was
Tony Rosselli that sparked the offense with a leadoff single down the line at third to start the sixth.
Dane Giesler reached base after being hit by a pitch in the very next at bat.
Clay Dungan put the Trees on the board with a liner out to right field that scored Rosselli from second and setup runners on the corners for Zahn who delivered a first-pitch double to right center to score another run.

After
Dominic Bifano walked to load the bases, utility man
Brandt Nowaskie singled home the go-ahead runs with a two-RBI single through the right side. The Sycamores would add another run when Bifano scored from third on a pickoff attempt to second that went into the outfield.

Ethan Larrison and
Austin Conway closed out the game for the Sycamores. Larrison did not allow a hit in 1.1 innings while Conway recorded his 12
th save of the season with one strikeout in the final 1.1 innings.

Adam Keller was charged with the loss for the Shockers, falling to 3-2. Jenista finished the day 2-for-5 with a pair of home runs and all three RBIs for WSU.
