TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Indiana State football fell to 0-9 on the season after Youngstown State cruised to a 66-24 win Saturday at Memorial Stadium.
The Penguins (4-5, 2-4 MVFC) were red hot out of the gate, scoring the first 28 points of the game. YSU quarterback Ricky Davis recorded the first two touchdowns for the Penguins; the first on a 57 rush on a read option and the second on a QB sneak.
The Sycamores looked to seize the momentum and take ball away as YSU fought for the endzone and
Rondell Green forced a fumble at the four-yard line, but Alvin Bailey recovered the ball and fell into the endzone for a score.
Redshirt senior
LeMonte Booker led the way for the Sycamores, finishing with 167 yards on the ground. The Orland Park, Illinois product set the longest rushing play of the season for ISU after he broke loose on a 73-yard scamper to close out the first quarter with a touchdown.
Jaquan Keyes would score seven minutes into the second quarter from one yard out for the second score of the day for the Trees.
Cade Sparks found
Jacquet McClendon on a wheel route for 73-yards to make it a 38-21 game before
Jerry Nunez pulled the Sycamores to within two scores after nailing a 35-yard field goal. ISU outscored Youngstown 17-10 in the quarter.
Out of the locker room it was all Youngstown State as the Penguins scored four-straight touchdowns to route the Sycamores. Three of the scores were 60-yards or more.
It marked the first time that ISU has given up 60+ points since 2013 against Indiana and the first time at Memorial Stadium since 2007 when Southern Illinois won 72-10.
After entering the game at the end of the first quarter, Sparks finished with 224 yards in the air, a touchdown and two interceptions.
McClendon ended his day with a team high six receptions, 101 yards and a touchdown. Foley, Alabama product

Katrell Moss also finished with 1.5 sacks and seven tackles. In total, ISU had four sacks on the day.
