Tips For Sycamore Boosters

Dear Sycamore Supporters:

Indiana State University Athletics is proud and fortunate to have the loyal support and continued interest in our athletic programs by our alumni and friends.  Sycamore Athletics takes great pride in abiding by all NCAA and Missouri Valley Conference rules that govern NCAA Division I athletics.  For the benefit of the many alumni, fans and booster club members who are so active in supporting and assisting the Sycamores throughout the year, we would like to remind everyone of a few rules that apply to all athletic representatives and boosters as the summer approaches:

  • Boosters may assist ISU coaches with finding summer employment opportunities for prospective student-athletes and current student athletes.
  • Boosters may invite student-athletes to participate in nonprofit, charitable or educational events.
  • Boosters may pay student-athletes employed by you only for work actually performed and at a commensurate rate with the going rate for similar services in the community and your own business.
  • Boosters may not pay a student-athlete more than other employees simply because of their "athletic status."
  • Boosters may help arrange for and locate summer housing of student athletes, but cannot provide cost-free or reduced rent housing for them.

Abiding by these rules will keep our student athletes eligible to represent Indiana State University in the future and in compliance with NCAA amateurism and eligibility rules.  If you ever have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact the Compliance Office in the Sycamore Athletic Department.  Thank you for continued support!
