DES MOINES, Iowa. – The Indiana State volleyball team dropped its third consecutive match Monday night to Drake, 3-0 (25-17, 25-17, 25-23) at the Knapp Center in Des Moines, Iowa.

As a team, ISU hit just .149 on the night led by senior Bree Spangler who tallied seven kills on 33 attacks. Rachel Griffin assisted on 23 of the Sycamores' 33 kills while Spangler (12) and Stephanie Bindernagel (11) paced the team in digs.

The Sycamores (9-15, 3-9 MVC) struggled early on in the match as the Bulldogs were on fire on the offensive side of the court, hitting .295 and .186 during the first two sets of play. DU's Kyla Inderski was lights out to open the evening, including 13 of her match-high 17 kills coming in the first two sets, with nine coming in the opener alone.

It looked to be all Bulldogs (14-13, 5-8 MVC) heading into the third set before Indiana State put together a solid set, putting together the squads best hitting set of the night at .250. The Sycamores led throughout the set, including a four-point lead at one point. Drake would cut the lead to 20-19 before ISU called a timeout to cool off the streaking Bulldogs.

The timeout seemed to have worked as ISU pushed its lead to 23-21 but the Drake reeled off four-straight points to take the set and complete the sweep.

Inderski led Drake with 17 kills on 32 attacks. Kameo Pope went for eight kills as the Bulldogs hit .256 as a team. Chandelle Davidson led all players with 23 assists.

The Sycamores will return to the ISU Arena this weekend as they play host to Evansville and Southern Illinois Friday and Saturday. Both matches are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. ET.
