TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State football has been ranked as the No. 23 team in the nation by the STATS FCS Top-25 and No. 25 in the FCS Coaches Poll, both released this afternoon.
The Sycamores dropped two spots in the STATS poll and four in the Coaches poll from their No. 21 standing last week. It was yet another intense week for the FCS, with Jacksonville State being crowned the new No. 1 in the STATS poll after narrowly missing out on a huge upset of No. 6 Auburn. Coastal Carolina remained No. 1 in the Coaches poll.
Indiana State fell at in-state Big Ten rival Purdue, 38-14, on Saturday. The Sycamores will look to bounce back this Saturday (Sept. 19), when it will play host to Southeast Missouri State at Memorial Stadium at 3:05 p.m. The Redhawks enter Terre Haute at 1-1, and are currently coming off an exciting last-second 27-24 win over nearby rival Southern Illinois.
