ST. LOUIS – Junior transfer running back Roland Genesy and redshirt freshman linebacker Katrell Moss have been named to the Missouri Valley Football Conference All-Newcomer team, the Valley announced Tuesday morning.
Genesy, a Glendale College transfer, led ISU in rushing (582) and all-purpose (699) yardage in 2015. Moss, on the other hand, had a strong freshman season for ISU, finishing sixth on the team with 47 total tackles and two forced fumbles.
A total of 24 student-athletes are chosen by the Valley's coaches, sports information directors and members of the media. Of those 24 newcomers selected, 20 were either freshmen or true freshmen, with the remaining four being junior college transfers.
One of those transfers on UNI's Aaron Bailey, the Valley's Newcomer of the Year. The MVFC's Freshman of the Year went to South Dakota true freshman defensive end Andrew Van Ginkel.
The final MVFC team – the All-Academic Team – will be announced tomorrow morning.
