This will be the third time this season that Indiana State has played in a Minor League ballpark with the Sycamores 3-1 in games played in those venues.
The Sycamores opened the season playing at Charlotte Sports Park, the spring training home of the Tampa Bay Rays and the home of the Rays' Class A Advanced affiliate, the Charlotte Stone Crabs. Although Indiana State lost that season opening game to the Auburn Tigers (4-0), the Sycamores did win their next 12 games including three at New Orleans Zephyr Field, home of the New Orleans Zephyrs who are the Triple A affiliate of the Miami Marlins. Indiana State took on the University of New Orleans Privateers in the venue, opening with an 8-7 win in 14 innings and taking the next two games of the series 10-3 and 11-4.
Indiana State is taking a three game winning streak and a 24-10 record overall to Buffalo, N.Y., this weekend as they take on the Canisius College Golden Griffins (20-13) in a three game series. The Sycamores return home to host Purdue next Tuesday before travelling to Indianapolis for the game against Butler.
Purdue (8-24) defeated Butler 5-4 in 10 innings on Tuesday as the Bulldogs fell to 14-21 on the season. Butler will host Xavier in a three-game Big East Conference series over the weekend.
