TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The visiting Bradley Braves snapped a 16-game Missouri Valley Conference losing streak on Friday night, riding a two-out rally in the top of the sixth inning to an 8-6 victory over the Indiana State baseball team from Bob Warn Field at Sycamore Stadium.

Indiana State drops to 23-23 overall and 8-11 in the conference with the loss while Bradley improves to 17-29, 2-18 in league play. The victory for Bradley was their first in conference play since March 31 against Evansville.

The Braves snapped a string of seven consecutive games that the Sycamores had scored the opening run, plating two runs in the top of the first inning. Indiana State came back to take a 3-2 lead in the bottom half of the inning, scoring two runs on a double by redshirt senior Koby Kraemer before taking the lead of a single by redshirt sophomore Connor McClain.

Bradley regained the lead with four runs in the third inning, bringing 10 batters to the plate in the frame. Greg Partyka led off the inning with a solo home run with Austin Jarvis adding two more runs on a double down the left field line.

Indiana State scored once in the third on an infield single by senior Jordan Pearson, before tying the score on a two-out, two-run double by McClain in the fourth.

Junior Josh Negele (2-1) had retired nine consecutive batters before the Braves posted a two-out rally in the sixth as Max Murphy (double), Partyka (double) and Josh Camalick (single) connected on three consecutive hits with two outs for an 8-6 Braves lead.

Indiana State's best chance late in the game came in the eighth inning, as junior Mike Fitzgerald worked a one-out walk before Kraemer beat out an infield single to bring the go-ahead run to the plate, but Bradley's Patrick Flanagan struck out back-to-back hitters to end the rally.

Flanagan allowed just two hits in 4.1 innings in relief, earning his first win of the season.

Redshirt sophomore Derek Hannahs extended his hitting streak to 17 games in the fifth inning of a single through the left side of the infield. Kraemer went 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles while McClain drove in a three runs on two hits.

Indiana State and Bradley wrap up the regular season on Saturday at 1:00 p.m., with the Sycamores honoring the seniors before the game.
