TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Indiana State Director of Athletics Ron Prettyman announced today (June 7) that a partnership agreement has been reached between Sycamore Athletics, Nelligan Sports Marketing and Midwest Communications which makes WIBQ 98.5 FM the new radio home for Sycamore athletics.

"The powerful signals that will carry our intercollegiate events and programming to our Sycamore Athletics supporters will allow thousands of more people access to our events in the Wabash Valley and Region. As our programs continue to get stronger, we have a responsibility to provide opportunities for our students, faculty, staff, alumni, community, sponsors and supporters to be a more viable part of our success. This new partnership with Midwest Communications helps us to fulfill that responsibility. It is exciting to bring Midwest Communications and Sycamore Athletics together to bring entertainment and greater athletics success to our area."
Under the new partnership, all Sycamore football, men's basketball, women's basketball and baseball games as well as each head coach's weekly call-in radio shows will be broadcast on WIBQ 98.5 FM. In the event of simultaneous broadcasts involving multiple sports, certain broadcasts will be moved to either 1300 or 1440 AM.
The powerful broadcast signal of WIBQ will reach homes in Vigo, Putnam, Sullivan, Parke and Vermillion counties in Indiana as well as the areas of Paris, Danville, Champaign, Charleston, Robinson and Effingham in Illinois. All broadcasts will also be available online on the station's web site (www.wibqfm.com) as well as on GoSycamores.com.

In addition to the radio broadcasts, Midwest Communications will provide staffing for all in-game promotional activities at regular season home football, basketball and baseball contests. This will include the execution of promotional contests, crowd interaction and on-court or on-field activities.
Additionally, Midwest Communications will host a tailgate at all home football games which will feature on site entertainment from their staff as well as other contests and promotions for Sycamore fans to engage in.
The new partnership with Midwest Communications runs through June of 2014.
