Indiana State Announces Complete 2011-12 Basketball Schedule

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Indiana State Sycamore basketball team, under the direction of second-year head coach Greg Lansing has announced the complete 2011-12 schedule as the Missouri Valley Conference released each member's 18-game league slate today (Sept. 8). The Sycamores will participate in 31 contests prior to the MVC Tournament, including a total of 15 games inside Hulman Center.

The Trees will tip-off their 35th consecutive season of Missouri Valley Conference play on Dec. 28 when they travel to Drake. The Sycamores will open the home portion of the league schedule on Dec. 31 by hosting Bradley. Indiana State then travels to Northern Iowa on Jan. 4. Last season the Sycamores swept all of their first three conference opponents.

ISU then hosts two consecutive league games beginning on Jan. 7 against Missouri State followed by Evansville on Jan. 10. Following a road game at Southern Illinois on Jan. 13, the Sycamores will host Wichita State on Jan. 15.

After the home game against the Shockers, ISU hits the road for two contests, beginning at Jan. 18 on Illinois State and continuing on Jan. 21 at Creighton. ISU hosts Northern Iowa on Jan. 25 and then wraps up the first month of MVC competition at home against Evansville on Jan. 29.

Indiana State begins February with a home game against Drake on Feb. 1 before taking to the road for two games, first at Wichita State on Feb. 4 and then at Bradley on Feb. 8. The Sycamores host Southern Illinois on Feb. 11 and Illinois State on Feb. 14.

Following the Sears Bracketbusters road game during the weekend of Feb. 17-19, ISU travels to Missouri State on Feb. 22 and wraps up the regular season inside the Hulman Center against Creighton on Feb. 25.

The State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Tournament will be held March 1-4 at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Mo.

ISU will host their lone exhibition contest on November 5 against Truman State and open the regular season on Nov. 11 against Eastern Illinois. Following a road contest at Louisiana-Monroe on Nov. 14, the Sycamores host Ball State on Nov. 18 and Green Bay on Nov. 21.

The Sycamores play Texas Tech on November 24 in the opening round of the Old Spice Classic in Orlando, Fla. The Sycamores will also play on November 25 & 27 against the field of Minnesota, DePaul, Dayton, Wake Forest, Arizona State and Fairfield. ISU's game against Texas Tech will begin at Noon (ET) and will be televised nationally on ESPN2.

Indiana State travels to Boise State on December 3 as part of the Mountain West/Missouri Valley Conference Challenge before hosting Maryville (Mo.) on December 10. The Sycamores travel to Vanderbilt on December 17 before wrapping up non-conference play on December 21 against Louisiana-Monroe.

All local, regional and national television appearances that are part of either Indiana State's or the MVC's television packages will be announced later this month.
