TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Incoming Indiana State freshman Justin Gant has been named to the 14-person Indiana All-Stars roster. Gant is the 37th member of the Indiana State basketball program to be named to the Indiana All-Stars.
Gant is the third recruit signed by head coach Greg Lansing and his staff to be named to the Indiana All-Stars during his current stint with the program. He is also the fifth representative on the team to play for the Sycamores in the last eight seasons. ISU freshman Jake Odum was an Indiana All-Star in 2009 while redshirt freshman Jake Kitchell was an Indiana All-Star in 2010.
As a senior at Terre Haute North Vigo High School for head coach Todd Woelfle, Gant earned first team all-state honors after he averaged 16 points and 9 rebounds a game. Gant also led the Patriots to their first sectional championship since 2008 this past season.
Gant joins 13 other selections, led by Mr. Basketball Cody Zeller of Washington High School, who'll play exhibition games against the Junior All-Stars on June 6 at Washington and June 8 at Kokomo. The boys and girls Indiana All-Stars play Kentucky June 10 at Bellarmine University in Louisville and the next day at Conseco Fieldhouse.
