- The Indiana State women's basketball team closed out a three-game and six-day
span and their nonconference schedule on Thursday night at Northern Illinois,
falling 47-43 to the Huskies inside the NIU Convocation Center.
The loss levels ISU's record to 6-6 heading into the Missouri Valley Conference
season, while NIU improves to 6-4.
Senior Shannon Thomas posted her 24th career double-double, going
for 22 points and 14 rebounds. Kim Davis (16 points, nine rebounds) and Amanda
Corral (15 points, six rebounds) led the Huskies.
Indiana State struggled from beyond the three-point arc, shooting just 3-for-20
(15%) for the game.
The Sycamores return to action on Friday, Dec. 30, when they open Missouri
Valley Conference action against in-state rival Evansville. The game with the
Purple Aces opens a three-game homestand for ISU to start the league season.
