TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Indiana State fell to Evansville by the score of 66-63 inside Hulman Center despite a career-high tying 20-point effort from junior Carl Richard as the Sycamores' 13-game home court winning streak came to end in front of 5,579 fans.

ISU fell to 12-9, 7-3 MVC while Evansville improved to 11-9, 5-5 MVC.

The Sycamores fell at home for the first time since January 24, 2010, a loss to Northern Iowa by the score of 67-58. With the victory, Evansville has swept the season series from Indiana State, marking the sixth consecutive season that one team has won each leg of the series.

Richard recorded his fourth double-double of the season with his 20 points and 10 rebounds. He was 6-of-8 from the field, including a mark of 2-of-2 from long range and 6-of-7 at the free throw line. His 20 points matches his career set last season against Missouri State.

Joining Richard in double figures was Aaron Carter, who reached double figures scoring for the sixth consecutive game with his 11-point effort. Carter was 5-of-5 at the free throw line.

Evansville drained six 3-pointers in the game, besting ISU's five. It marked the first time in the last 13 games that an opponent had hit more treys than the Sycamores in the contest. ISU was 20-of-27 at the free throw line.

Indiana State hit its only 3-pointer of the second half with 5:02 left in the contest when Carl Richard drained one from the left wing. It would be the last field goal that the Sycamores would hit in the game.

After Jordan Jahr gave Evansville a 61-60 advantage with 4:35 remaining, Myles Walker tied the contest at 61 by hitting 1-of-2 free throws with 2:26 left. Denver Holmes gave UE a 63-61 lead on a jumper with 2:07 showing on the clock while Aaron Carter tied the game on a pair of free throws at the 1:28 mark. Kavon Lacey's lay-up with 58 seconds left gave the Purple Aces a 65-63 lead before Jake Kelly missed a lay-up to give Evansville the ball with 45 seconds on the clock.

Jahr was fouled after grabbing an offensive rebound and hit 1-of-2 free throws to stretch the UE lead to 66-63 with nine seconds left. Aaron Carter was forced to try a desperation trey just before the buzzer which glanced off the front of the rim and into the arms of Richard as time expired.

Indiana State scored the game's first 10 points to race to a 10-0 advantage. Evansville cut the lead down to 16-15 with 9:36 on the clock , before a 5-0 run pushed the lead back out to 21-15. After UE cut the lead down to 27-22 with 5:47 left, the Sycamores responded with a 12-0 spurt which was capped by a traditional 3-point play from Richard with 2:08 on the clock which made it 39-22. Evansville scored the first half's final five points as ISU went into the half with a lead for the first time in the last six contests, holding a 39-27 advantage.

Evansville put three scorers in double figures, with Jarh leading the team with 16 points. Denver Holmes had 15 and Kavon Lacey scored 13.

The Sycamores return to action on Saturday, January 29 when they travel to Qwest Center Omaha to take on the Creighton Bluejays. Tip-off is set for 3:05 p.m. (ET).
