Jim Wiedie has submitted his resignation as head women's basketball coach at Indiana State University effective March 31, 2010. ISU has accepted coach Wiedie's resignation. The terms of his resignation will not be released.
Wiedie leaves ISU after ten seasons as the women's basketball head coach.
"Indiana State University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics would like to thank Coach Wiedie for his years of service and for his contributions to the Women's Basketball program. We wish him well as he pursues other opportunities," said Ron Prettyman, ISU's Director of Intercollegiate Athletics.
"I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Terre Haute community for their support of me and their support of the program over the last 10 years," Wiedie said. "You've truly made my experience here a special one. I'm looking forward to my next coaching challenge and starting a new phase in my coaching career."
The current assistant coaches will continue to coach the team throughout the remainder of the season.
