TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The two Indiana State basketball teams which have reached the NCAA Tournament since the 1978-79 Dream Season will be honored on Saturday, November 27 during the home contest against Buffalo at Hulman Center. Players, coaches and administrators from the 1999-00 Missouri Valley Conference Regular Season Championship & 2000-01 MVC Tournament Championship Teams will be on hand for the celebration. The game will tip-off at 1:05 p.m. (ET).

The 99-00 squad went 22-10 and captured the MVC Regular Season Championship with a 14-4 league record. The Sycamores advanced to the semifinals of the MVC Tournament and took on Texas in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, making the Sycamores first appearance in the "Big Dance" since the 1978-79 team reached the national championship game. The highlight of that season was one magical night in Hulman Center when a feverish gathering of 8,739 partisan Sycamore fans, including Larry Bird, were on hand to witness the clinching of Indiana State's first MVC Regular Season Championship in 21 years against Bradley. ISU took the lead for good against the Braves that night, 47-46 in the second half on a Matt Renn jumper and the Sycamores went on to build a seven-point lead. A last second Bradley 3-pointer came up short to give ISU a 56-54 victory in a game which was televised nationally on Fox Sports Midwest.

The 00-01 squad went 22-12 and won the State Farm MVC Tournament with victories over Southern Illinois, Creighton and Bradley. ISU was a No. 5 seed in that year's MVC Tournament and became the lowest-seeded team to ever win the event and earn The Valley's automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament. ISU entered the NCAA Tournament as a No. 14 seed and are one of just 16 teams all-time to beat a No. 3 seed in the first round. ISU downed No. 3 seed Oklahoma by the score of 70-68 in overtime before falling to Gonzaga late in the second half in an attempt to become just the third-ever No. 14 seed to reach the Sweet Sixteen.

Michael Menser's 32-point performance that helped lead Indiana State to a semifinal victory over Creighton in the semifinals of the 2001 State Farm MVC Men's Basketball Championship on March 4, 2001 was selected last year as the No. 6 top moment in Arch Madness history by a vote of the league's fans.

Menser was 9-of-18 from the field in the 87-74 Sycamore victory over the top-seeded Bluejays. He hit 5-of-11 3-pointers and was a perfect 9-of-9 at the free throw line en route to posting a career-best 32 points. He added seven assists as well in front of 10,708 fans at the then-named Savvis Center. It was ISU's second MVC tournament title, with the previous coming at Hulman Center in 1979.

Indiana State returns to action on Saturday, November 20 when they travel to Oral Roberts. Tipoff is set for 8:05 p.m.
