CHARLESTON, ILL. ? Indiana State junior Erica Moore became the second member of the Sycamore women's track & field team to qualify for the NCAA Mideast Regional and the third member of the Sycamore track & field team overall, winning the 400 meter hurdles Friday at the Eastern Illinois University Big Blue Classic.
Moore took first with a time of 59.91 while teammate Amanda Jones finished second with a time of 1:04.10.
Also winning for the Sycamore women was the 4x800 meter relay team of Allison Malone, Katie Weber, Julia Costello and Adriane Wunderlich, who ran to first place with a combined time of 9:22.20.
Tara Perigo finished third in the javelin with a toss of 116-feet-04 (35.47 meters) while Kelsey Hanley was second in the hammer throw with a distance of 159-feet-09 (48.70 meters), and Emily Pugh was second in the 10,000 meters with a personal best time of 38:45.18.
Dana Sander, who was second after the first day of the heptathlon, finished second as the event was completed today, scoring 4,204 points. Teammate Rachel Posey, who finished the first day in seventh place, moved up to sixth on the final day with 3,580 points.
Sander won the heptathlon long jump competition Friday with a leap of 16-feet-08.75 (5.10 meters) while Posey won the heptathlon 800 meters with a time of 2:26.86.
On the men's side, Craig Padgett recorded his first win as a Sycamore, taking the 10,000 meters with a time of 32:10.11. Teammate Josh Bedford finished in third place with a time of 32:20.54.
Josh Williams was also a winner for Indiana State on the day, winning the javelin with a personal best throw of 183-feet-05 (55.90 meters). Jon Lautzenheiser finished third in the long jump with a leap of 22-feet-03 (6.78 meters).
Anthony Bertoli ran the fifth fastest 400 meter hurdles in school history, finishing second in the event with a time of 52.85.
The 4x800 meter relay team of James Twitchell, Scott Koressel, Jeremiah Vaughan and Drake Sterling finished third on the day with a time of 7:50.75.
The EIU Big Blue Classic will wrap up on Saturday with action beginning at 11:30 a.m. (ET).
