TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Indiana State women's basketball team wraps up exhibition play this Sunday, Nov. 8 with a contest against Southern Indiana. Tipoff is slated for 2:05 p.m. (ET) at Hulman Center.
The Sycamores put up an 84-52 exhibition win over Bellarmine on Sunday, Nov. 1. Led by five 3-pointers from sophomore Brittany Schoen, ISU compiled an 11-of-22 team effort from behind the arc. Schoen totaled 17 points on the day, while sophomore Deja Mattox also reached double digits with 15 off 6-for-12 field goal shooting and a 2-for-2 effort from the free throw line.
Southern Indiana is led by head coach Rick Stein, who is in his 10th year at the helm of the Screaming Eagle program. USI finished second at last weekend's Disney Division II West Coast Tip-Off Classic, earning a season-opening 71-64 win over Western Oregon. Junior Amie Newhart was named to the all-tournament team after averaging 15.7 points per game.
Indiana State leads the all-time series against Southern Indiana, 1-0 in regular-season competition and 2-0 in exhibition contests.
