TERRE HAUTE, Ind. ? The Indiana State women's basketball program, under the direction of ninth-year head coach Jim Wiedie, announced today (Aug. 25) the completion of the 2008-09 schedule, which includes 15 home dates.

The schedule features games against three postseason teams from one year ago in non-conference play. By adding games to be played inside the Missouri Valley Conference, ISU will face off versus seven different postseason teams from last year.

The non-conference slate begins with a pair of exhibition contests against Indianapolis on November 1 and then Missouri-St. Louis on Nov. 8. ISU opens the regular season at Central Michigan on Nov. 15 before hosting the defending WNIT Champion Marquette on Nov. 19.

The Sycamores travel to Detroit on November 25 before also taking on SEMO Nov. 28.

ISU will take part in the Big Easy Classic versus New Orleans and Tulane on December 5-6 before traveling to Ball State on Dec. 13. The non-conference schedule is rounded out by back-to-back home games on Dec. 19 & 20 versus Eastern Illinois and Kansas State as well as a road contest at Butler on Dec. 22.

Indiana State will open the New Year in style on January 1 when they host Drake at Hulman Center and then come right back against Creighton on Jan. 3. The Sycamores conclude the first of three consecutive home games to open MVC play Jan. 10 by hosting Illinois State.

The Sycamores' journey through the league schedule continues on Jan. 15 at Wichita State and then to Missouri State on Jan. 17 for the program's first-ever trip to the brand-new John Q. Hammons Arena in Springfield, Mo.

ISU returns home to face off against Southern Illinois on Jan. 22 and then Evansville on Jan. 24 before embarking on a key three-game Valley road swing as the calendar flips to February. The Sycamores open the road excursion at UNI on Jan. 30 and then head over to Bradley on Feb. 1. The road trip ends Feb. 7 at Illinois State.

Coach Wiedie and the team will get re-acquainted with the Hulman Center floor on Feb. 12 versus Wichita State and then Missouri State on Feb. 14. After the brief stop home, the Sycamores head to Evansville on Feb. 19 and Southern Illinois on Feb. 21.

The final homestand of the season consists of a date with UNI on Feb. 27 and then the annual Senior Day contest on March 1 versus Bradley. The regular season concludes March 5 at Creighton and then March 7 at Drake.

For the second consecutive season, the Sycamores will take part in the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Women's Basketball Tournament at a neutral site. This year's tournament will be held on March 12-15 at The Family Arena in St. Charles, Mo.
