TERRE HAUTE, Ind. ‑ Kylie Hutson, Indiana State freshman pole vaulter from Terre Haute North High School, has qualified for the Indoor NCAA Meet to be held at the Randal Tyson Track Center on the University of Arkansas campus, Fayetteville, Arkansas.  The women's pole vault will be contested on Saturday, March 10, 2007 at 5:00 p.m. (cst).  Hutson is ranked in a tie for 15th place among the 17 qualifiers in the vault.  Hutson's qualifying mark of 13-5 ? (4.10 meters) was set at the Iowa State Invitational on February 9, 2007, when she won the event.  The mark also established a new ISU school record.

Hutson was injured warming up this past weekend at the Alex Wilson Invitational at Notre Dame and did not compete.  She sprained her left ankle landing in the pit.  Through the great efforts of ISU Head Trainer Paul Plummer and graduate trainer Shige Takeuchi, Hutson has made great progress with the ankle in the last two days and should be ready to vault on Saturday.  She has rehabbed in the ISU training room for several hours a day since the injury occurred.

Indiana State's pole vault coach is Jeff MartinJohn Gartland is the Head Women's Coach, and John McNichols is the Coordinator of the track and field program.  Hutson's high school coach was Mike Daison.

ISU's last NCAA Women's Indoor qualifier was Alicia Miller, who finished 17th in the 400 in 2004.  ISU's last NCAA Women's Indoor All-American (Top 8 and top 8 Americans) was present ISU Assistant Angie Bruecker-Martin in 2000, when she finished 8th in the 800.  The highest ISU women's team finish in an Indoor NCAA Meet happened in 1993, when the Holli Hyche led Sycamores finished in a tie for fifth.
