TERRE HAUTE, Ind. ? Funeral services for Indiana State University baseball player Jordan Shaw-Tyler, a freshman from Terre Haute Ind., who was killed in a one car accident early Saturday morning in Terre Haute, have been set.
According to the Terre Haute Police Department, the 18-year old Shaw-Tyler, a pitcher/outfielder for the Sycamores, was driving westbound on Hulman Street when he skidded off the road and struck a tree. Police are still investigating the accident.
Shaw-Tyler played his high school baseball at Terre Haute North High School, leading the Patriots in hitting his senior season. An athletic training major at ISU, Shaw-Tyler was the son of Ed Weatherspoon and Barbie Shaw. He leaves three siblings, Justin Norton, E.J. Weatherspoon, and Elijah Weatherspoon.
Visitation will be Wednesday (Dec. 12) from 5 to 8 p.m. at Terre Haute North High School's auditorium. Services will take place Thursday (Dec. 13) at 5 p.m. at Terre Haute North High School with the Reverend Bill Herb officiating. Private burial will be Friday (Dec. 14) in Roselawn Memorial Park. Roselawn Funeral Home assisted in making the arragements.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, donations in Shaw-Tyler's name may be made to the family or to a savings account at Fifth Third Bank, which has been set up in Shaw-Tyler's name to assist with costs and expenses.
