Recruiting Areas: Northeast Ohio/Pittsburgh/Pennsylvania/Northeast U.S.

Kriss Proctor is in his first season as an assistant coach at Indiana State. Proctor is the recruiting coordinator for head coach Mike Sanford's staff, and he also works specifically with the wide receivers.

Proctor comes to Indiana State after spending three seasons working under various titles at Boise State. Most recently in 2014 he was an offensive quality control coach, during which time he worked primarily with the Bronco quarterbacks. He was mentored by then-BSU offensive coordinator/QB coach Mike Sanford, Jr., son of current Indiana State head coach Mike Sanford who now holds the same position at the University of Notre Dame.

The Broncos went 12-2 in 2014, winning the Mountain West Conference Championship with a 28-14 victory over Fresno State, as well as the Fiesta Bowl with a 38-30 win over Arizona. Under the care of Sanford Jr. and Proctor, Boise State quarterback Grant Hedrick led the nation in completion percentage (70.8) and was in the top-15 in yards per pass attempt (seventh, 8.91 yards/attempt), passing efficiency (ninth, 157.2), passing yardage (13th, 3,696 yards) and total offense (14th, 306.3 yards/game).

During the 2012 and 2013 seasons, Proctor worked as a recruiting assistant for the Broncos. Under that role, Proctor was in charge of a variety of recruiting operations that helped Boise State land some of its best recruiting classes ever.

Prior to his time at Boise State, Proctor played from 2008-11 at the United States Naval Academy. He is ranked as Navy's fastest quarterback in the triple option era, running a 4.4 in the 40-yard dash and a 4.1 in the pro agility shuffle. As a senior, he posted 211 rushes for 914 yards to lead the Midshipmen with 14 touchdowns. He completed 52 passes for 787 yards and seven scores through the air. Proctor rushed for a season best 176 yards against Delaware with three touchdowns. He added 97 rushing yards with two touchdowns in a nationally-televised 27-21 win over Army to close out the season.

He played in eight contests in 2010 and was Navy's starting QB against Central Michigan. Proctor finished his junior season carrying the ball 32 times for 304 yards and four TDs. He was a member of Navy's offensive unit that finished the season ranked sixth in the country in rushing offense (284.77 yds/gm) and ninth in pass efficiency (156.65). Against Central Michigan, Proctor posted 201 rushing yards on 20 carries, which was the 10th-best ground gain by a Navy quarterback in school history. At the time, he was the 19th different QB in program history to rush for 100 yards in a game and only the sixth different QB in Navy history to rush for 200 yards.

Proctor made three appearances during the 2009 season, including starts against Wake Forest and Temple in place of an injured Ricky Dobbs, where he rushed for 223 yards and five touchdowns on 53 carries. He became the first Navy quarterback in the triple option era to beat a team from a BCS conference in his first-career start.  He did not see varsity action as a true freshman in 2008.

A 2008 graduate of Big Bear High School, Proctor was a three-sport standout with varsity letters in football, basketball and baseball. He led the football team to back-to-back De Anza League titles with a combined 24-2 record in 2006 and `07. Proctor received All-State (Calif.) and all-county honors in football his senior year. He was a two-time all-state, all-county and All-CIF centerfielder for the baseball team. He also earned All-CIF and all-league kudos as a point guard for the basketball team in 2007 and `08.

He completed his undergraduate education at Boise State while working as a quality control assistant coach.
