CHARLESTON, Ill. – Indiana State men's and women's track & field will split squad with a handful of distance runners up to Notre Dame's Alex Wilson Invite on Saturday and the remainder of the team at EIU's Friday Night Special.
Men's distance runners
Blake Kramer,
Akis Medrano and
David Timlin will constitute ISU's delegation to Notre Dame on Saturday. Medrano will kick things off in the mile at 1:20 p.m. ET, followed by Kramer in the 800-meter at 2:20 and Timlin in the 3K at 3:20. This will be Timlin's first race since suffering a minor injury at home during the Terre Haute Double Dual against Illinois State on Jan. 13. Timlin is the reigning MVC Indoor and Outdoor Most Valuable Male Athlete from 2016 – and award given to the highest point scorer of the conference meet.
Several Sycamores will be sitting out the EIU Friday Night Special in preparation for the MVC Indoor Championships next week, but ISU will still be sending a sizeable team for one final conference tune-up in Charleston tomorrow – including senior hurdlers
Daley Carter and
Marcus Neely.
Reigning MVC Female Field Athlete of the Week
Kaitlyn Moricz will be in action for the Sycamores in the pole vault, but her counterpart MVC Female Track Athlete of the Week
Brooke Moore will take the week off after toppling two school records in consecutive weeks. Moore brought down the school record in the mile at Notre Dame's Meyo Invite two weeks ago (4:43.04), and just last week bested the school record in the 3K at 9:35.60.
Six Sycamore men currently rank in the top-50 in the nation in their events:
