Â
Perhaps the most impressive performance on the track came from
Brittany Neeley, who claimed victory in the invitational section of the women's 1500-meter run with a new career-best time of 4:22.31. Her time is the second-best time in school history, first in the MVC and 36th in the NCAA East Region. She also was victorious in the 800-meter run on Saturday with a time of 2:08.73, but her time of 2:08.15 from Ole Miss still leads the conference and is 35th in the East.
Â
In the field for the Sycamore women,
Erin Reese and
Cassaundra Roper led the way. Reese was dominant in the hammer throw on Friday, winning the event with a mark of 61.80m (202-09). Her mark of 62.34m (204-06) from Ole Miss still leads the conference, is fifth in the East and 16th in the country. She completed the weekend by winning the discus throw on Saturday a mark of 52.95m (173-09) and her throw of 53.98m (177-01) from Ole Miss is the best mark in the Valley, ninth in the East and 23rd in the nation.
Â
Roper had a career day in the shot put on Saturday at the Tiger Track Classic, finishing second overall with a big throw of 15.55m (51-00.25) for a new lifetime-best and the fifth-best mark in ISU history. Her throw keeps her in first place in the conference by over a foot, moves her to 22nd in the East Region and 47th in the country.
Â
Hunter Schuman was the lone victor in the field for the ISU men at Auburn, earning a win in the shot put with a throw of 16.58m (54-04.75), fending off second place by three inches. Schuman is currently 10th in the Valley.
Â
On the track,
Cam Trout came away a victor in the men's 5K, crossing the line at 14:47.96, a new lifetime-best and nearly four seconds in front of second place. With that time, Trout is now fourth in the Missouri Valley.
Â
The 110-meter hurdles saw
Daley Carter run his best race of the season, placing fifth with a time of 14.04 which is second in the Missouri Valley, trailing only Jaylan McConico from Illinois State. His season-best time moves him up to 30th in the East and 40th in the country.
