Sycamores pick up several personal-bests, three individual titles on day one of Tiger Track Classic

AUBURN, Ala. – Brittany Neeley, Erin Reese and Cam Trout led the Sycamores with individual titles on a day one filled with personal-bests at the Tiger Track Classic.

After resting last weekend, Neeley returned to the track in impressive fashion, winning the invitational section of the women's 1500-meter run with a new lifetime-best time of 4:22.31. Her time is the second-
best time in Sycamore history and currently leads the MVC, is 26th in the NCAA East Region and 46th in the nation.

Right behind Neeley in the 1500-meter run was Taylor Austin, who finished second overall with a personal-best time of 4:23.82 which is third in school history, second in the conference and 34th in the East Region. Brooke Moore was close behind Austin, finishing fourth at 4:26.31 for a season-best performance. With Moore's performance, Indiana State owns the top-three positions in the MVC in the women's 1500-meter run.

With four events of the women's heptathlon complete, Caitlyn Redmon sits in fourth with 3091 points and Ayanna Morgan is in ninth with 2941 points. Morgan took home victories in the 100-meter hurdles (14.18) and the 200-meter dash (24.81) and Redmon took third in the 100-meter hurdles (14.18) and fifth in the high jump (5-03.75).

In the field, Erin Reese was once again dominant in the hammer throw, claiming the title with a mark of 61.80m (202-09). Her mark of 62.34m (204-06) from Ole Miss still leads the conference, is fifth in the East and 15th in the country.

Cam Trout led the way for the men on the track, taking home a victory in the men's 5K by crossing the line at 14:47.96, a new lifetime-best and nearly four seconds in front of second place. With that time, Trout is now fourth in the Missouri Valley.

The men's invitational section of the 1500-meter run saw Quentin Pierce run a new personal-record time of 3:47.73 en route to a seventh place finish. Pierce is now in third in the Valley and less that a second away from Taylor FloydMews of Bradley, as well as 35th in the East Region.

Senior Hunter Schuman kept with the trend of personal-best performances, taking fifth in the hammer throw with a throw of 55.44m (181-11) which pushes him to third in the MVC behind only Nate Dyer and Ricky Hurley from Southern Illinois.

Competition will resume tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. ET with the remaining heptathlon and decathlon events, starting with the men's 110-meter hurdles and women's long jump.
