TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State baseball will open its 2018 home slate Saturday afternoon as Western Illinois makes the trek to Bob Warn Field for a three-game series. Each game of the series is scheduled for a 1 p.m. ET first pitch. The Valley On ESPN3 will carry all three contests.

SYCAMORES AT A GLANCE
After two weekends of action, Indiana State is hitting .291 as a club with 38 extra-base hits, including 15 home runs. The Indiana State pitching staff holds a 5.09 ERA and has struck out 85 batters in 97.1 innings.
LOOKING AT THE LEATHERNECKS
Western Illinois enters the weekend 0-9 on the year, led by infielder Dillon Sears who hold a .321 batting average in seven starts for the Leathernecks. Deion Thompson is the squads' RBI leader with eight on the year to go along with a .273 average. WIU is hitting .244 as a team while the pitching staff holds a 6.00 ERA.
ALL-TIME VS THE LEATHERNECKS
The Sycamores hold a 20-14 advantage with WIU in the all-time series. The Trees completed at three-game sweep of the Leathernecks in 2014 and have won four-straight.

Mitch Hannahs moved into fourth for all-time wins at Indiana State with a victory last weekend at Austin Peay, passing Jim Rendel (1968-75). Hannahs sits at 130 wins in five seasons at the helm of the program.

Luke Fegen has only started five of 11 games for the Sycamores, the junior has been one of the top run-scorers for the Trees. Fegen has 11 hits in 27 at bats for a team leading .407 batting average. He has reached base 14 times (11 H, 2 BB, HBP) and has scored 10 runs for the Sycamores. Fegen is sporting a .593 slugging percentage with a pair of doubles and a home run to his credit.
