ST. LOUIS – Indiana State senior Wendi Bibbins was named First Team All-Missouri Valley Conference Wednesday the league office announced. Ashli O'Neal was also honored by the league after receiving honorable mention accolades.
 
Bibbins becomes the first Sycamore to receive first team honors since Bilqis Abdul-Qaadir was named first team all-conference in 2014. She finished the regular season second in the league and 88^th nationally with 8.8 rebounds per game. The Louisiana native led The Valley in offensive rebounds (3.3 per game) and was second in defensive rebounds per game (5.4 per game).
 
The MVC's Newcomer of the Year in 2017, she registered 40 blocked shots this season which ranks third in the conference this season and seventh all-time in a single season at Indiana State. Bibbins also ranks fourth in the league with an average of 1.8 steals per game.
 
O'Neal, named to the MVC Scholar-Athlete Second team on Tuesday, leads the Sycamores this year and ranks eighth in The Valley with an average of 12.2 points per game, scoring in double figures in the last 11 consecutive games of the regular season. Her .843 free throw percentage rate this year ranks 44^th in the nation and third in the league while her 1.3 steals per game ranks seventh in The Valley.
 
This marks the first all-conference honor for both student-athletes.
 
Of the 10 Missouri Valley Conference members, Indiana State is one of six to receive multiple all-conference honors (between first team and honorable mention). Only three – Indiana State, Missouri State and Southern Illinois – had both a senior and a sophomore receive the accolades.
