NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Sycamore men's and women's track and field teams will hit the road this weekend and head south to Vanderbilt University for the Music City Challenge on Friday and Saturday.

Both the men's and women's teams remained in the Great Lakes Regional rankings this week with the men falling one spot to 12th and the women falling two spots to 13th.

Last weekend at the Meyo Invite, 12 Sycamores recorded top-10 performances including
Taylor Austin's school record in the 3K. Austin broke the record by over 12 seconds with a time of 9:23.58, overtaking
Brooke Moore's time of 9:35.60 from last year. She also is now 45th nationally in the 3K. This weekend at Vanderbilt she will take on the 5K, another event in which she owns a school record.

In addition to Austin, three other Sycamores appear in the top-50 nationally.
Erin Reese had a phenomenal showing last weekend at the Meyo Invite in the weight throw, recording a mark of 19.45m (63-09.75) en route to a fifth-place finish. She is now seventh in school history and moved up to 38th nationally.

Akis Medrano made his first appearance in the top-50 this week after a strong performance in the men's 5K. Coming in at 41st nationally, Medrano earned a new career-best with a time of 14:29.32 last Saturday which moved him into fifth all-time at ISU, overtaking Craig Padgett from 2011. This weekend Medrano will compete in the 3K.

Senior hurdler
Daley Carter remains ISU's closest to the top-16 qualifying mark for the NCAA Indoor Championships in March at Texas A&M. Carter claimed the Meyo Invite 60-meter hurdle championship last weekend and his time of 7.87 from the Terre Haute Double Dual is second in the conference and 26th in the nation.

Other top-10 performances in ISU history from last weekend include
Tristan Parmley (third, 200-meter dash),
CJ Anyaebunam (sixth, 600-meter run),
Ryan Cash (fifth, 3K),
Brittany Neeley (fourth, 600-meter run and fifth, 800-meter run),
Imani Davis (seventh, 600-meter run and eighth, 400-meter dash) and
Scott Schreiber (ninth, long jump).

Currently, five Sycamores sit atop the MVC in their events including
Taylor Austin (mile and 3K),
Ayanna Morgan (60-meter hurdles),
Kim Jackson (pole vault),
Scott Schreiber (long jump) and
Gino Brown (triple jump).

Action will begin at Vanderbilt on Friday at 5:00 p.m. ET with the men's high jump, women's weight throw and the women's long jump.
