TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Sycamore Soccer head coach
Julie Hanley has announced the addition of four signees to the program.
"We are thrilled to welcome the 2018 recruiting class into the Sycamore Family. This is a talented group of young women who will contribute to our team's culture while being committed to helping build a championship level program here at Indiana State University. I am confident this class will make an immediate impact this fall and I couldn't be more excited to welcome these four players and their families into the Sycamore Soccer program," said Hanley.
The biographies for the 2018 class are below…
Sarah Clancy
Palatine HS & FC United
Sarah Clancy joins the Sycamore family coming from Palatine, Ill. where she attended Palatine High School. During her high school career Sarah earned All-Conference, All-Area, and All-Sectional honors. Clancy played her club soccer for FC United under the direction of coach Craig Snower. Sarah is the daughter of Bob and Noreen Clancy and has one sibling, Kyle. She plans to major in special education.
Alise Emser
Westlake HS & Challenger FC 99
Alise Emser joins the Sycamores coming from Westlake, Ohio where she played high school soccer for Westlake High School. Emser earned multiple awards throughout her high school career including, Southwest Conference First Team honors twice, Defensive MVP honors twice, and GCSSCA First Team honors in 2017-2018. Alise was also a two year team captain. Emser played club soccer with Team Challenger FC 99 under the direction of coach Matt Kutner. Alise is the daughter of Brian and Halle Emser and has one sibling, Austin. She plans to major in Nursing.
Sidney Ewing
Liberty North HS & FCKC 99/00
Sidney Ewing joins the Sycamore family coming from Liberty, Mo. where she attended Liberty North High School. During her high school career Ewin was named First Team All-District, Offensive Player of the Year, First Team All-Conference and First Team All-Region all in 2017. Sidney played club soccer for FCKC 99/00 DA under the direction of coach Michael Nardiello where she was a three time State Cup Champion. Sidney is the daughter of Dennis and Jodie Ewing and has two siblings, Jacob and Jackson. She plans to major in elementary education.
Erin Sweda
Nequa Valley HS & Team Chicago
Erin Sweda comes to Indiana State from Naperville, Ill. where she attended Neuqua Valley High School. During her high school career Sweda was a part of the 2015 IHSA State Runner Up team, was named Academic All-Conference four consecutive years, earned All-Conference her junior season, and was a Regional Champion in 2015, 2016 and 2017. Erin played her club soccer for Team Chicago under the direction of coach Dave Lovercheck. While with Team Chicago Sweda was a State Cup Champion and a National League participant in 2015. Erin is the daughter of Ken and Donna Sweda and has one sibling, Lauren. She plans to major in physical therapy.
