KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. -- Thilda Staubo fired an opening round of two over par to lead the Sycamores on the opening day of the 2018 Edwin Watts / Kiawah Island Classic. Today's round was held at the par-72, 5,941-yard layout of the Oak Point Golf Club.
Staubo's round of 74 is good for a tie for 41st place.
Sophie Benetti's round of 79 puts her in a tie for 134th while
Sierra Hargens carded a round of 81 to tie for 161st place.
Robyn Blanchard covered the 18 holes in a score of 81 which tied for 191st place.
Dawn Turner rounded out the Sycamore lineup with an 86 which is tied for 202nd place.
In one of the largest collegiate golf tournaments of the season, Indiana State stands in 37th place out of 43 teams. ISU fired a team score of 318 in their return off the winter lay-off. College of Charleston fired an even par round of 288 to lead the event.
The teams are right back at it tomorrow with the second round of tournament play. The morning wave begins at 8:45 a.m. (ET) while the afternoon wave will tee-off at 1 pm (ET). Live stats will be provided on GolfStat.com.
