TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Just a day after the conclusion of the 2017 college football season, Indiana State begins the countdown to its 2018 campaign with the announcement of the Sycamores' 2018 slate.
Indiana State, under second year head coach
Curt Mallory, will play five games inside Memorial Stadium beginning with the season opener Thursday, Aug. 30 against Quincy. The game will kick off at 7 p.m. ET.
Indiana State travels to FBS opponent Louisville Sept. 8 for a matchup with the Cardinals at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium. It will mark the 11th all-time meeting between the two programs and the first since 2009. Louisville holds a 6-3-1 advantage in the series that began back in 1939.
One of the oldest rivalries in program history will continue Sept. 15 when the Sycamores travel to Charleston, Illinois for a matchup with the Eastern Illinois Panthers. EIU leads the series which dates all the way back to 1901, 43-38-4. The Sycamores lost a heartbreaker to the Panthers in the season opener a year ago inside Memorial Stadium as EIU scored on a late drive to secure a 22-20 win.
Following a bye week in week four of the season, Indiana State will open Missouri Valley Football Conference play as they welcome Northern Iowa to Terre Haute for a Thursday (Sept. 27) night game with the Panthers. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. ET.
The Sycamores will head to South Dakota State for the first time since 2015 the following week (Oct. 6). It will mark the first meeting between the two programs inside SDSU's new Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium.
Homecoming is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 13 at Memorial Stadium as the Sycamores play host to Missouri State. Kickoff with the Bears is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET. For more information on Homecoming click

The Sycamores will play back-to-back road contests during weeks eight and nine. The road swing begins with a trip to Saluki Stadium in Carbondale, Ill. Oct. 20 to face Southern Illinois before heading to Ohio for a matchup with Youngstown State Oct. 27.
The team will then return to Memorial Stadium for two games as they welcome South Dakota Nov. 3 and Illinois State Nov. 10 for Senior Day. Both games are scheduled to kickoff at 1 p.m. ET.
Indiana State's regular season will come to a close Nov. 17 with a trip to Macomb, Ill. to face Western Illinois.
