TERRE HAUTE, Ind.- The Indiana State Sycamores came in first place over opponents Wittenberg, Wabash and DePauw in their final home meet of the 2017-2018 season.

Indiana State started off the day with a senior day ceremony to honor their lone senior, diver
Laura Fulton. Fulton was the first diver to join the program and will always be remembered as playing a huge role in the inaugural diving season.
This season Fulton set and broken her own school records in nearly every meet. She currently holds the school records in both the one meter springboard with a score of 211.5 and in the three meter springboard with a 206.9.
In tonight's meet Fulton finished with a score of 168.65 in the one meter springboard and a score of 201.15 in the three meter springboard while also finishing in first place. While
Mckenzie Plummer finished the one meter springboard with her highest finish of the season placing second with a score of 171.65 while also recording a 131.70 in the three meter.
"McKenzie did a great job in the one meter and Laura did awesome taking first in the three meter. It was a tough meet for them coming back after the long break, but they have been training very hard during this week and I'm happy about their performance," said diving coach
Fengting Chen.
Following this ceremony the Sycamores came out ready to perform strong during their final home contest.
Blanca Saez-Illobre set the momentum for the Sycamores coming out hot in the 1000 freestyle setting a new ISU school record with a time of 10:28.37.
Vivian Kritikou followed strong with a standout performance in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:57.91.
The Sycamores then added three more impressive performances in the 100 backstroke as
Kendall Hansen,
Emily Boomershine and
Marlene Pavlu Lewin finished in first, second and third place.
ISU kept battling in the events that followed as they continually edged their competition.
Martina Marks and
Jacquie Price provided standout performances for the Sycamores in the 200 butterfly. Marks notched a first place finish with a time of 2:10.19 and Price followed up in second with a 2:11.34.
Alex Malmborg, Pavlu Lewin and
Joelle Borchers followed up with first, second and third place finishes in the 50 freestyle, as Malmborg recorded a time of 23.91.
All teams then entered a 15 minute break where the Sycamores were able to continue their mental preparation and build excitement for the upcoming events.
Indiana State came out strong in the 17
th event of the night with Malmborg and Borchers recording first and second place finishes in the 100 freestyle.
Hansen, Pavlu Lewin, and Minatra followed with strong finishes in the 200 backstroke, as Saez-Illobre,
Emily Ratliff,
Kerry Tepe and
Jordan Gramlich added first through fourth place finishes in the 200 breaststroke.
Indiana State continued to dominate their competition for the remainder of the meet as
Jacquie Price added yet another first place finish for the Sycamores in the 500 freestyle with a 5:18.82 with
Madison Brand coming in second adding a 5:20.85.
Megan Schade followed up with a strong first place finish in the 200 IM posting a time of 2:12.62, as the Sycamores moved into their final event of the night.
The Sycamores finished off the night with a first place finish in the 800 freestyle relay with a time of 7:49.96 which added a new pool record for the Sycamores inside the Vigo County Aquatic Center.
"Overall it's a new year and we have been training very hard and the girls are tired, but we did a great job getting out quick in the races and I'm really excited for our next dual meet and then heading into conference," said head coach
Matt Leach.
Indiana State will be back in action on Jan. 20 as they travel to face off with Ball State at 1 p.m.
