CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – Freshman
Avery Taylor put on several strong performances in the heptathlon on day one of the Jack Jennett Open to lead the Sycamores at Northern Iowa.

Going into day two, Taylor sits in fourth with 2637 total points through four events of the heptathlon.
Michael Boger is currently in seventh-place with 2469 points and Josh Perry is right behind him in eighth with 2437 points.

Taylor's best performance came during the high jump, where he claimed victory in the event with a mark of 1.98m (6-06.00). He also led the Sycamores in the long jump with a third-place finish at 6.41m (21-00.50).

In the 60-meter dash and shot put, Boger took charge for the men, taking third in both events. In the 60-meter dash he finished with a time of 7.17 and his mark in the shot put was 11.98m (39-03.75).

Action resumes tomorrow morning at 11 a.m. ET with the last three events of the heptathlon. The pentathlon will begin shortly after at 11:45 a.m.
