TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State Director of Athletics
Sherard Clinkscales has announced the addition of Indiana University to the Sycamore Football program's future schedule Tuesday.
"I appreciate Fred Glass and Anthony Thompson working with us and making this a reality. There is a plethora of options for IU to choose from and choosing Indiana State really means a lot," Clinkscales said.
The programs will take the field in Bloomington twice, with the first meeting Sept. 13, 2025 and the second Sept. 11, 2027.
"Our recruiting is always going to start in the Wabash Valley and it's to expand into Indiana and to play another school, especially of the caliber of Indiana, it is going to give our guys a chance to compete at the highest level," second year head coach
Curt Mallory said. "It's always a great opportunity to play a Big Ten school, and with IU being in-state it just makes it that much better for a lot of our kids."
The matchup also holds a different story as Mallory will return to the University where his father, Bill Mallory, is the all-time winningest head coach. Bill Mallory coached the Hoosiers from 1984-96, picking up 69 wins during his time in Bloomington.
