ST. LOUIS -- Indiana State junior
Thilda Staubo has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Women's Golf of the Week today by the league office. Staubo led the Sycamores to a fourth place finish on Monday and Tuesday at the RoseAnn Schwartz Invitational, hosted by Youngstown State.
The event was was held at the Mill Creek Golf Course (North Course) which is a par-72, 6,089-yard layout. The Sycamores were the defending champion of the event. Staubo fired a 76 on the opening day and then came back with a round of 75 on Tuesday to finish with a score of 151 and a tie for 2nd place. The 2nd place finish for Staubo is the best of her career topping a pair of third place finishes she has amassed over her previous two seasons of competition.Â
This is the first career weekly MVC honor for Staubo. Joining her in the Top 10 was sophomore
Sierra Hargens, who finished in a tie for eighth place.
The Sycamores return to action on September 18-19 when they travel to Ball State for the Cardinal Classic in Yorktown, Ind.
