TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State Basketball head coach
Greg Lansing announced today (Aug. 25) that junior
Laquarious Paige will not return to the Sycamores' program.
"Laquarious will not be a part of our team for the upcoming season," Lansing said. "He is a wonderful young man with a bright future and all of us within our program love him and will miss him. We thank him for all that he has done for us and wish him nothing but the very best as we all move forward. We're extremely excited about our team and the upcoming season." Â
Paige played in 29 games last season as he earned 24 starts, including the first one of his career in the season opener at Northern Illinois. He averaged 6.4 points and 2.4 rebounds per game and made 20 3-pointers over the course of the season. He added 21 steals and 13 blocked shots. Paige scored a career-best 20 points as he hit a trio of 3-pointers and pulled down three rebounds with a pair of blocked shots against nationally-ranked Iowa State in the Advocare Invitational. The 2016-17 campaign was his third and final one with Sycamore Basketball as he played in a reserve role as a redshirt freshman after an early season injury in 2014-15 curtailed his freshman campaign.
