Sycamores Travel to EKU for Final Exhibition

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — Sycamore soccer will travel to Richmond, Ky. on Saturday Aug. 12 to face off with the Eastern Kentucky Colonels.

Indiana State enters the match coming off a 3-0 loss to Austin Peay in their first exhibition on Tuesday (Aug. 8).

The Sycamores and Governors kept an even first half with each team posting eight shots throughout play. Indiana State had a couple of aggressive offensive attacks, first when Tessa Leong ripped a shot off the back post off an outside breakaway. The next chance came later in the first half when freshman forward, Alina Steffen nearly finished a Katie Wells corner kick.

Despite valiant efforts ISU was unable to hold the relentless offensive attacks of the Governors in the second half of play giving up three goals.

Indiana State looks to improve on this result going into the match with Eastern Kentucky.

The Colonels are coming off a record 13-5-1 season in 2016. EKU was named the most improved team in the nation last year after a run in the Ohio Valley Conference tournament where they fell in the championship match by a one goal margin.

Kickoff will take place at 4 p.m. inside the EKU soccer complex.
