Indiana State Basketball legend Jake Odum will continue his professional career during the month of July as he participates in the NBA Summer League with the Miami Heat. Odum and the Heat will play in Orlando at Amway Center from July 1-6 and then from July 8-17 in Las Vegas.
Odum played in the 2014 NBA Summer League first for the Indiana Pacers and then later that summer in Las Vegas for Sacramento Kings.
Most recently, Odum completed his third professional season overseas with s.Oliver Wurzburg which is a club located in Wurzburg, Germany. During the 2015-16 season, Odum played for Medi Bayreuth of Germany for the Bundesliga season. His professional rookie season came in 2014-15 when he led PAOK to a third place finish in the Greek League. Additionally, Odum was invited to the 2014 Portsmouth Invitational and was named to the Under Armour All-Select Tournament Team.
He was a two-time All-Missouri Valley Conference First Team honoree in 2013 & 2014 and was a two-time selection to the All-MVC Tournament Team in 2011 and 2014. He led the Sycamores as a freshman to the 2011 Missouri Valley Conference Tournament Championship and the Sycamores first trip to the NCAA Tournament since 2001. He recorded the Sycamores' first triple-double since Larry Bird did it in 1979 with 10 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists against Fairfield in the 2011 Old Spice Classic (now Advocare Invitational) and is still the only player in the history of the tournament to do so.
The Miami Heat open play at the NBA Summer League Orlando at 11:00 am (ET) on Saturday, July 1 against Charlotte. All NBA Orlando Summer League games are available on NBA TV.
On July 2, the Heat will play Orlando at 3:00 p.m. (ET) and the Indiana Pacers on July 3 at 5:00 p.m. Odum and the Heat celebrate July 4th against Detroit at 5:00 p.m.
The NBA Summer League then moves to Las Vegas on July 8 when they take on San Antonio at 8:00 p.m. (ET) live on ESPNU. On July 10, the Heat play Washington at 4:30 pm (ET) on NBA TV. The action continues on July 11 when the Heat take on Dallas at 8:00 pm (ET) live on NBA TV.
