TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Indiana State Sycamore women's golf team will look to remain undefeated all-time at their home tournament when they host the ISU Spring Invitational On Sunday and Monday, April 9-10 at The Country Club of Terre Haute,
The ISU Spring Invitational will be held for the fourth consecutive year at The Country Club of Terre Haute, which will feature a par-72, 6,041-yard lay-out on the city's south side. The Sycamores have hosted the event in 2014, 2015, 2016 and now 2,017 and have won each of the first three championships. Last year's event was cut down to just 18 holes after the second day was washed out due to rain.
Once again a strong field visits Terre Haute in the final tune-up prior to next week's Missouri Valley Conference Championship in Cape Giradeau, Mo. Those competing on Monday and Tuesday will be:Â Indiana State (Blue), Indiana State (White), William Woods, Butler, Evansville, Northern Iowa, Eastern Illinois, Drake, Loyola, Western Illinois, Illinois-Springfield and Dayton.
The Sycamore Blue team will feature
Marissa Uradomo (who currently ranks fourth-best in the MVC according to GolfStat.com),
Thilda Staubo,
Robyn Blanchard,
Sierra Hargens and
Sophie Benetti. Overall, the Sycamores rank fifth in the Missouri for best stroke average.
On the Sycamore White team will be
Abigail Irwin,
Alex Jennings,
Kayla Ryan,
Samantha Hightower and
Dawn Turner. Senior
Shelby Williams will play in the event as a individual.
A shotgun start will be used both days as the event begins at 10 am (ET) on Sunday and 9 am (ET) on Monday. Admission is completely free.
