Matt Leach Announces First ISU Swim Camps for Summer 2017

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State swimming and diving has announced the installment of their inaugural 2017 summer swim camps.

There will be three individual camps with the first starting on June 2-3, while the second camp is set for June 5-8 and the third taking place on June 9-10. Each of the three camps will include five hours of water time per day and a ton of personalized attention. All camp sessions will be held in the pool inside the ISU Arena located on 5th Street.

The first camp available is the "Start and Turn Camp." This two day session will focus on open turns, flip turns and the crossover turn.  Following this will be the "Swim Camp," on June 5-8 where participants will partake in a full day of drills, technique work and training for each stroke. At no extra cost, the coaching staff will also provide a four stroke analysis, education on nutrition, strength and conditioning, college athletics experience, and what it is like to build a team culture.

The final camp will be held on June 9-10 and this one focuses solely on speed. Participants will train and develop the skills and power needed to be quick inside and outside of the pool.

All campers should bring a swim suit, towel, and goggles to each camp. For the swim camp and speed camp, in addition to this gear participants should bring gym shoes, workout shorts and a workout top in the event of out of the pool drill work.

Lunch and snacks will be provided at each camp, but if campers have any nutritional limitations or allergies they should consider packing their own.
