WICHITA, Kan. – Dominic Bifano has been named to the 2017 Johnny Bench Award Watch List the Greater Wichita Area Sports Commission announced.
 
Bifano is one of 97 catchers named on the watch list, and he is one of four Missouri Valley Conference catchers to be nominated for the prestigious award.

The Carmel, California native has transitioned into the Sycamores starting catcher his senior season, starting 20 of 22 games for the Trees. Bifano ranks first on the team with 15 walks drawn this season and has thrown out eight baserunners. The right-hander holds a .261 average at the plate accompanied by a .402 on-base percentage.
